NASA Targets 2027 Moon Base, 2028 Nuclear Mars Rocket in Bold Space Roadmap

NASA has unveiled plans to launch a nuclear electric propulsion rocket, Space Reactor-1 Freedom, to Mars by December 2028. The agency also outlined a three-phase, $30 billion plan to build a permanent moon base using nuclear power.
