U.S. Marine Corps Gets Accrete AI Tool for Information Analysis

AI-powered Argus platform analyzing social media, video, and online information for U.S. Marine Corps analysts.
Accrete's Argus for Cognitive Advantage is designed to help U.S. Marine Corps analysts track online narratives and process large amounts of digital information. The platform combines AI agents with data from multiple sources.

The U.S. Marine Corps has awarded Accrete a sole-source contract to provide Argus for Cognitive Advantage. The AI system is designed to help analysts track fast-moving information, understand online narratives, and make better-informed decisions.

Accrete will license its Expert AI Agents to the U.S. Marine Corps through the Argus for Cognitive Advantage platform. The system is built to monitor and analyze information from across the open web, social media, broadcast media, messaging platforms, and foreign-language sources.

According to Accrete, the platform can turn large amounts of scattered information into useful signals for analysts. This can reduce the time needed to find and understand important developments.

Accrete developed Argus using its Knowledge Engine platform. The company says its system combines data, institutional knowledge, and AI agents to help organizations work with complex information.

Accrete first deployed Argus with the U.S. Department of War in 2022. The company later received a multi-million-dollar U.S. Army contract in 2024 and was selected for a 2025 AFWERX STRATFI award.

Online information can change very quickly. Coordinated narratives, synthetic media, and misleading activity can spread across several platforms before human analysts have time to track them.

Argus is designed to address this problem by following how narratives develop across different information sources. Accrete says this helps analysts spend less time collecting information and more time understanding what it means.

The system uses AI agents to find and connect relevant information. Its video analysis tools can transcribe and translate speech, identify objects and scenes, and detect location clues.

Accrete says Argus can also work across 243 languages and sources such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Reddit, Telegram, Weibo, and VKontakte. Analysts can use Argus Chat to search the collected information using plain-language questions.

The Marine Corps can use the technology to study online conversations and assess how different groups may respond to messages. Its audience simulation tools can model reactions before a message is released.

The platform also includes tools for measuring outcomes and tracking narrative changes. Accrete says its AI-generated conclusions can be traced back to their sources, giving analysts a way to review how an inference was made.

Argus does not replace human judgment. Its usefulness depends on the quality and availability of the information it can access, while AI-generated analysis still needs human review.

Accrete’s system is also focused on specific defense and information-analysis tasks. It is not a general solution for every intelligence or decision-making problem.

The Marine Corps contract shows how AI is being used to handle the growing volume and speed of digital information. Tools such as Argus could help analysts process material faster while keeping human experts involved in important decisions.

Accrete Founder, CEO, and Chairman Prashant Bhuyan said Knowledge Engines are designed to capture expert knowledge and give AI agents the context needed to support complex work. The company sees Argus for Cognitive Advantage as a major application of that approach for national security missions.
