Kratos Defense & Security Solutions has received an approximately $35 million award for a national security-related military hardware production program. The U.S. defense technology company said the hardware and related systems are expected to directly support military personnel in the field.
Kratos Defense & Security Solutions received the award for work involving military-grade hardware and systems. The company said the program will be carried out at a secure Kratos facility, but it will not release further contract details because of national security and customer restrictions.
The award adds to Kratos’ existing work on major U.S. and allied defense programs. According to GlobeNewswire, the company is already producing hardware for areas such as hypersonic systems, counter-drone technology, air defense, missiles, radar and directed-energy systems.

The hardware will be designed and produced for military use. Kratos’ C5ISR business focuses on engineering systems for large-scale production, with the goal of making them ready for reliable manufacturing while controlling cost and delivery time.
The company said its production capabilities are intended to help defense customers move from system design to field deployment more quickly. The new award is expected to support national security missions and provide equipment for military operations.
There is a clear limit to what is currently known about the program. Kratos has not disclosed the customer, specific hardware, delivery schedule or other technical details because of national security and customer-related considerations.

Kratos President and CEO Eric DeMarco called the company’s C5ISR business an important national asset. The award also shows the growing need for large-scale production of military systems as the U.S. and its allies continue to invest in defense technology.
