Zoox has officially launched its fully autonomous ride-hailing service in Las Vegas, marking a historic milestone as the first company to operate a purpose-built robotaxi service. After months of testing along the Strip, the service is now open to the public starting September 10. Rides are free during the initial phase and available through the Zoox app, which can be downloaded on iOS and Android.
“The autonomous vehicle industry has made remarkable strides this year, bringing us closer to a future of safer, more accessible mobility. With our purpose-built robotaxi, we’re thrilled to transform the ride-hailing experience, starting in a city as iconic as Las Vegas,” said Aicha Evans, CEO of Zoox.
Why Las Vegas?
Las Vegas welcomes more than 40 million visitors annually, making it a prime location for Zoox’s debut. The city’s vibrant mix of world-class dining, entertainment, and nightlife offers countless destinations for riders to explore.
With Zoox, the journey becomes part of the adventure. Riders can choose from destinations such as:
- Resorts World Las Vegas
- AREA15
- Topgolf
- Nearby resorts, entertainment venues, and more
As the service expands, additional destinations will continue to be added across the city.
How to Ride with Zoox
Using Zoox is simple:
- Download the Zoox app (available on iOS and Android).
- Book a ride to participating destinations.
- Enjoy the experience in a fully autonomous robotaxi.
During the introductory phase:
- Rides are free of charge.
- Pickups and drop-offs take place at designated ride-hail zones.
Dedicated pickup areas with on-site Zoox Concierges are available at partner locations, such as Resorts World Las Vegas and AREA15.
The app provides real-time arrival updates, license plate verification, and post-ride feedback options. Riders can also access remote support before, during, or after their ride through the app or the in-car “Help” button.

Looking Ahead: Paid Rides and Expansion
This initial free service allows the public to experience Zoox, provide feedback, and help refine operations. Paid rides will be introduced once regulatory approvals are in place.
Zoox is also preparing to expand its service to San Francisco, with a public waitlist already open through the app.
More Than a Decade in the Making
Zoox’s journey began over eleven years ago with a bold vision: to create a new mode of transportation, not just retrofit existing vehicles. By designing a robotaxi from the ground up, Zoox focused on safety, scalability, and passenger comfort.
“The idea was never to make a car drive itself; it was to build an entirely new way to move people. After more than a decade of innovation and testing, we’re proud to launch in Las Vegas. This is only the beginning,” said Jesse Levinson, Co-Founder and CTO of Zoox.
Welcome to the Future of Ride-Hailing
With the debut of its fully autonomous robotaxi service, Zoox is redefining what ride-hailing can be—safe, seamless, and memorable. In Las Vegas, where unforgettable moments are made every day, Zoox is ensuring the journey is just as extraordinary as the destination.
