Samsung Electronics has unveiled its 2026 Odyssey gaming monitor lineup, headlined by two world-first innovations: a glasses-free 6K 3D display and a monitor capable of a blistering 1,040Hz refresh rate. The five new models aim to solidify Samsung’s lead in the high-performance gaming display market by targeting both immersive enthusiasts and hyper-competitive esports players.

Forget the headset. What if your monitor could transform your favorite games into immersive, three-dimensional worlds just by tracking your eyes? That’s the futuristic promise at the heart of Samsung’s latest and most ambitious push into gaming monitors. The South Korean tech giant has pulled back the curtain on its 2026 Odyssey lineup, introducing breakthroughs that redefine the extremes of both visual fidelity and raw speed. Led by a revolutionary 3D monitor, the collection is designed to cater to every tier of gamer and creator.

“With this year’s Odyssey lineup, we’re introducing display experiences that simply weren’t possible even a year ago,” said Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of Samsung’s Visual Display Business. The statement underscores a launch built on claiming multiple “world-first” titles. The headliner is the 32-inch Odyssey 3D G9 (G90XH model), which Samsung calls the world’s first 6K display with glasses-free 3D.

Powered by real-time eye tracking, it adjusts the depth and perspective of on-screen content based on the viewer’s position. This creates a layered, dimensional effect meant to enhance terrain and object separation in supported titles like Stellar Blade and Lies of P: Overture, all without the need for any accessory. It boasts a 6K resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate (boostable to 330Hz), and a 1ms Grey-to-Grey (GtG) response time.

If pure, unadulterated speed is your priority, Samsung has an answer for that, too. The 27-inch Odyssey G6 (G60H model) is touted as the world’s first 1,040Hz gaming monitor through its Dual Mode feature, with a native QHD resolution at 600Hz. This spec is squarely aimed at the esports arena, where every millisecond and every frame of motion clarity can mean the difference between victory and defeat. The monitor supports both AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible technologies to ensure tear-free, fluid gameplay.

Filling out the premium tier is an expanded Odyssey G8 series, offering a choice between ultimate resolution and perfect contrast. It includes three models: the industry’s first 6K gaming monitor (G80HS) at 165Hz; a sharper 27-inch 5K model (G80HF); and a 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SH) that pairs a 4K QD-OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification for infinite contrast and perfect blacks.

This aggressive push comes as Samsung seeks to maintain its market dominance. According to data from IDC cited by the company, Samsung leads the global market for high-refresh-rate gaming monitors (above 144Hz) with an 18.8% revenue share. With these new Odyssey displays, featuring what Hun Lee calls “a level of immersion that fundamentally changes how content looks,” Samsung is betting that groundbreaking specs and novel experiences will secure its number-one position for a seventh consecutive year. For gamers, the future of the desktop just got a lot more three-dimensional and exponentially faster.
