Queensland’s Hypersonix Clears Critical Vibration Tests, Paving Way for World’s First 3D-Printed Hydrogen Scramjet Flight

Queensland aerospace startup Hypersonix Launch Systems, founded by former NASA scientist Dr Michael Smart, has passed critical vibration testing of its DART AE hypersonic demonstrator. The fully 3D‑printed, hydrogen‑fueled vehicle is designed to reach Mach 7 over 1,000 km. Backed by $46 million in Series A funding from the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation and US Defense Innovation Unit, the program positions Australia as a sovereign player in the global hypersonic race.
