China Boosts Military Patrols Around Contested South China Sea Waters

China has stepped up military patrols around a highly contested area of the South China Sea.
China says Huangyan Dao is part of its territory and says these patrols are designed to strengthen control of the surrounding sea and airspace.
But for other countries in the region, increased Chinese military activity around disputed waters raises concerns about maritime security and regional stability.
