London Defense R&D firm introduced the world’s smallest unified autopilot system, designed to convert standard drones into intelligent precision-strike weapons.

The system, named Raptor Pilot AI Pro, combines artificial intelligence, vision-based processing, and full flight control in a compact 100-gram module. The company says the technology can transform any class of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) into an intelligent precision munition.”

At the core of the system is a quad-core processor running at 2.4 GHz. It supports integrated on-screen displays and processes high-definition video at 30 frames per second. According to the developer, the onboard AI can detect and track targets in real time. It allows drones to operate with greater autonomy and accuracy.

The autopilot also integrates visual and inertial sensors to maintain stability and navigation. It even works in environments where satellite signals are weak or jammed. This feature is viral on modern battlefields, where GPS disruptions are increasingly common.

Flight control is powered by an STM32F405 controller. It helps in delivering accurate attitude and altitude estimates during autonomous operations. This ensures stable flight performance whether the drone is performing surveillance, interception, or strike missions.

Despite its small size, the Raptor Pilot AI Pro is designed for broad compatibility. It supports a voltage input range from 6 to 28 volts. It can also integrate with various sensors, payloads, and communication networks. Both wired and wireless interfaces are supported, making the system adaptable to different drone configurations.

London Defense R&D describes the platform as ‘platform-agnostic.’ That means it can be installed on multiple UAV types, including interceptors, loitering munitions, fixed-wing drones, and hybrid aerial systems.

The company confirmed that its recently unveiled Baby Raptor and Raptor XL interceptor drones are powered by an autopilot system. These are designed for defensive and counter-drone missions, as well as rapid response and precise targeting.

By combining AI processing, vision tracking, and autonomous flight control into a single lightweight module, the firm aims to reduce the need for multiple onboard systems. This integration could simplify drone upgrades while increasing operational capability.

As drone warfare continues to evolve, compact, modular systems like the Raptor Pilot AI Pro may play an increasingly important role. Smaller, smarter, and more adaptable technology allows both military and security operators to enhance existing UAV fleets without redesigning entire airframes.
