Hyundai Set to Reveal Its Largest Electric Vehicle at Brussels Motor Show

Hyundai Motor Company will unveil its biggest electric vehicle to date at the 2025 Brussels Motor Show in January, marking the start of an ambitious new EV rollout for 2026. The world premiere, featuring an advanced 800-volt charging system, will be presented by Raf Van Nuffel, Vice President of Product at Hyundai Motor Europe, who will detail the next steps in the brand’s expanding zero-emission portfolio.

For European car buyers, the annual Brussels event has become a critical barometer for the continent’s electric future, and Hyundai is using it to make a major statement. The new, large EV model will slot into a lineup that already stretches from the compact INSTER to the flagship IONIQ 9, filling a crucial gap in the market. But it’s not the only debut; the updated IONIQ 6 sedan will also make its first European motor show appearance, showcasing design and technological refinements to its acclaimed, aerodynamically sleek form.

“The Brussels Motor Show continues to be an important platform for us to highlight how our electric products and technologies are evolving for European customers,” said Raf Van Nuffel. He emphasized that as Europe accelerates its shift to sustainable transport, Hyundai aims to showcase not just new models, but the foundational innovations that will define its next-generation vehicles. The show’s strong focus on electrification, he noted, perfectly aligns with the technological progress and customer expectations shaping the region’s mobility landscape.

So, what can attendees expect beyond the sheet metal? Hyundai’s stand will transform into an experience hub. A dedicated N Zone will let visitors get up close with the high-performance IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N models. For a dose of pure creative fun, the brand will also feature an interactive arcade gaming corner built around INSTEROID. This boundary-pushing concept car, based on the INSTER EV, blends video game aesthetics with sporty styling, serving as a rolling canvas for Hyundai’s designers to explore radical ideas beyond the constraints of production models.

The forthcoming large EV is particularly significant as it represents Hyundai’s push into a segment with higher margins and growing consumer demand for spacious, long-range electric family vehicles. The confirmation of an 800-volt architecture is a key detail, promising ultra-fast charging capabilities that can significantly reduce downtime on longer journeys, a major consideration for European drivers. This technology, already proven in models like the IONIQ 5, allows the vehicle to add hundreds of kilometers of range in just minutes at compatible fast-charging stations.

The Brussels Motor Show itself, Belgium’s largest indoor event, provides a powerful stage for this reveal. The upcoming edition has confirmed 64 automotive brands, and the previous show attracted over 300,000 visitors and 1,100 media representatives from 38 countries. For Hyundai, a brand positioning itself as one of Europe’s leading mobility innovators, this is the ideal moment to showcase its momentum and future roadmap. The dual premiere of a new large EV and the refreshed IONIQ 6 signals a maturing of its electric lineup, moving from establishing a foothold to comprehensively covering diverse consumer needs and preferences.
