Innovations in automotive and mobility testing solutions to accelerate as Emerson and Tata Technologies collaborate

Emerson, a global leader in industrial technology and advanced automation solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Tata Technologies, a prominent player in product engineering and digital services. The collaboration is set to deliver integrated testing and validation solutions for global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicle sectors.

By combining Emerson’s cutting-edge test and measurement solutions with Tata Technologies’ extensive engineering expertise, the two companies aim to transform the validation processes required for modern vehicles. With an increased focus on electric, autonomous, and connected technologies, the partnership is designed to address the growing complexity of software-defined mobility platforms and accelerate development timelines while reducing costs.

A Powerful Synergy for the Automotive Sector

This collaboration brings together Emerson’s global leadership in software-connected testing technology with Tata Technologies’ deep domain expertise in systems engineering, electronic/electrical (E/E) architectures, and mobility platforms. The ultimate goal is to equip OEMs with intelligent, scalable, and cost-effective validation frameworks that can keep pace with the rapid evolution of the transportation industry.

Shitendra Bhattacharya, Country Head and Director for Emerson’s Test and Measurement business in India, highlighted the significance of the partnership: “This collaboration represents a powerful synergy between Emerson’s test and measurement innovation and Tata Technologies’ engineering scale. Together, we can deliver end-to-end solutions that help customers reduce complexity and stay ahead in a highly dynamic transportation landscape.”

Driving Innovation in Next-Generation Mobility

The partnership is already yielding impressive results, with early pilot programs showcasing the potential of these integrated solutions. In one such pilot engagement with a leading European luxury OEM, the teams were able to develop electric vehicle (EV) powertrain test rigs in just five months—significantly reducing the typical 15-month build timeline by an impressive 67%.

In another project with a premium European automotive brand, the companies successfully delivered a fully automated validation setup for a next-generation infotainment head-up display unit. The test rig executed over 30,000 test scenarios, accelerating the product development cycle and ensuring that the brand could quickly bring its innovative product to market.

Accelerating the Path to Software-Defined Mobility

Nachiket Paranjpe, President and Head of Automotive Sales at Tata Technologies, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize the testing landscape: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Emerson to innovate intelligent, automated testing and validation solutions that address the growing complexity of connected, autonomous, and software-defined mobility platforms. This partnership reinforces our commitment to engineering a software-defined future, helping OEMs innovate faster, and deliver connected, autonomous, and sustainable mobility that delivers a great customer experience.”

A Global Reach and Promising Future

The partnership between Emerson and Tata Technologies is not limited to any one region. Pilot programs are already underway in India, Europe, and North America, with both companies planning to expand their collaborative efforts. The goal is to develop joint solutions that enable OEMs across the globe to deliver competitive, high-quality products in an increasingly crowded and fast-moving market.

By empowering OEMs to tackle the challenges posed by the evolution of electric, autonomous, and connected vehicles, this collaboration is poised to reshape the future of mobility and enable manufacturers to meet the growing demand for smarter, more sustainable transportation solutions.
