Samsung Australia has announced four new Odyssey gaming monitors as part of its 2026 display lineup.
The range includes the Odyssey G8 G80HS, Odyssey G8 G80HF, Odyssey OLED G8 G80SH, and the new Odyssey OLED G7 G73SH. The company says the new models are designed for gamers, streamers, and content creators seeking higher resolutions and faster performance.
The standout model is the 32-inch Odyssey G8 G80HS. Samsung describes it as the world’s first 6K gaming monitor, pushing beyond the 4K standard that dominates the gaming market today. The display offers 6K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate for highly detailed visuals and smooth gameplay.
The monitor also includes Samsung’s Dual Mode feature. This allows users to switch from 6K at 165Hz to 3K resolution at up to 330Hz. The option gives gamers flexibility depending on whether they prioritize image quality or competitive performance.
Samsung also introduced the 27-inch Odyssey G8 G80HF. This model supports 5K resolution at 180Hz and can reach up to 360Hz in QHD mode through Dual Mode. The feature targets gamers who want both immersive visuals and ultra-fast response times.
OLED Gaming Expands Across More Price Segments
The Odyssey OLED G8 G80SH arrives in 27-inch and 32-inch variants. It combines a 4K OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate, offering rich colors, deep contrast, and smooth motion. Samsung has also included its Glare Free technology to reduce screen reflections without affecting image quality.
The OLED G8 supports USB-C charging with up to 98W. This allows users to connect laptops and other devices while reducing cable clutter on desks. Samsung has also equipped the monitor with QD-OLED Penta Tandem technology, which improves brightness and energy efficiency.

For gamers seeking a more accessible OLED option, Samsung has launched the Odyssey OLED G7 G73SH. The 32-inch display offers 4K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. It also supports Dual Mode, enabling refresh rates of up to 330Hz at Full HD resolution.
The Odyssey OLED G7 delivers a response time of just 0.03 milliseconds. Lower response times help reduce motion blur and improve responsiveness during fast-paced gaming sessions. This makes the monitor suitable for competitive gaming, where quick reactions matter.
Across the entire Odyssey lineup, Samsung has included modern gaming technologies. DisplayPort 2.1 provides higher bandwidth for demanding graphics. AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible support help reduce screen tearing and stuttering during gameplay.
The monitors also support HDR10+ Gaming. This technology automatically adjusts brightness and contrast based on the game’s scene. As a result, players can see more details in both dark and bright environments.
ViewFinity S8 Targets Creative Professionals
Alongside the gaming monitors, Samsung introduced the new ViewFinity S8 S85TH. The 40-inch monitor is designed for professionals working with large files, creative applications, and multitasking workflows. It focuses on productivity rather than gaming performance.
The display features a curved WUHD screen and a 144Hz refresh rate. The extra screen space allows users to manage multiple windows and applications more efficiently. This can benefit professionals in design, video editing, software development, and business environments.
One key feature is Thunderbolt 5 connectivity. The technology supports data transfer speeds of up to 80Gbps and device charging up to 140W. This enables faster file transfers and simplified workstation setups using a single cable connection.

Samsung also included its Easy Connection feature. The system allows users to connect and switch between devices more smoothly. This is particularly useful for professionals who work across multiple computers or devices throughout the day.
According to Simon Howe, Director of Visual Display and Brand Memory at Samsung Australia, the new lineup was developed to meet the changing needs of gamers and creative professionals. He said the monitors are designed to deliver greater immersion, precision, and visual quality across gaming and productivity tasks.
The launch reflects a broader trend in the display industry. Monitor makers are increasingly focusing on higher resolutions, faster refresh rates, OLED technology, and improved connectivity as users demand more versatile screens. Gaming monitors are also evolving into multipurpose displays capable of handling both entertainment and professional workloads.
With the arrival of 6K and 5K gaming monitors, Samsung is pushing display technology into a new category. As games, graphics cards, and creative applications continue to advance, higher-resolution displays are expected to play an important role in both gaming and professional computing.
